- HOW LONG DO YOU STAY AT THE WEDDING FOR?
- That really depends on you. When you contact me we can discuss your requirements and work out how long you need me for. As a guide, the length of stay would be from about half an hour before the start of the ceremony until just before the reception meal. As I never take more than 1 booking for any day, i'm never in a rush to another job and this means i can be there earlier or stay later if required.
- HOW MANY PICTURES WILL YOU TAKE?
- The simple answer is as many as is possible on the day. This will always depend on the size of the wedding and how many guests you have attending as well as the weather. On average, there would be around 400-500 pictures for a full day. As i am more interested in capturing your special day than counting the number of images i take this can sometimes vary.
- DO WE GET ALL OUR PICTURES?
- Yes, yes you do. I don't believe in charging for expensive reprints and, although i will always retain copyright of the images, they are your images from your day so you should have them all. You will receive all your images in high resolution on a CD/DVD which means you can have them printed anytime you want without having to contact me to get the image. Of course, I can order extra prints for you at any time if you require me to but this gives you the option to save some money and hassle.
- WILL YOU PHOTOGRAPH EVERYONE?
- It is my aim to get a natural portrait shot of all your guests on your special day as well as capturing the story of the day. If you want them, formal and group photos will be taken usually directly after the ceremony. I try to make this as painless as possible and let you get back to enjoying your day with your family and friends. Of course, if it's a large ceremony or a short booking some people may get missed out but you can ensure that people who must be in your photographs are by having a formal shot with them or by ensuring that someone points them out to me on the day for special attention.
- WHEN WILL OUR PICTURES BE READY?
- The normal time for having your pictures ready is usually within a week. I will arrange to meet up with you to show you all the images on the computer first before printing. I generally put little cards on the reception tables with the web address on them. This means your guests can normally view your gallery within 10 days of the ceremony. However, depending on your honeymoon, this can be changed to suit you so that you get to see the pictures first. The free prints are usually ready in time for the couple returning from honeymoon.
- DO WE HAVE TO HAVE FORMAL OR GROUP SHOTS?
- No, of course not. Although a lot of my work involves formal photography, some couples dislike the thought of them and I get many requests for just the informal wedding photographs. It is up to you, but do warn your families and friends if you’re not planning to have any formal shots as it can cause confusion on the day.
- DO YOU VISIT THE VENUE BEFOREHAND?
- Not always but i will always be at the venue early on the day of your wedding to get a picture in my head of the best places to take photographs from, good vantage points and also to see where the reception will be held (if same venue). Also, it's best to know what the weather will be like for the day so i can get a sense of lighting etc. If you have certain photographs you would like taken i can certainly meet with you beforehand at the venue. Depending on location, this can sometimes incur a cost, based solely on travel times.
- WHEN DO WE PAY YOU?
- I take a 30% deposit to book the day which is
payable when you complete your booking. The balance
is due 1 month after the wedding or when you receive
your prints. As most costs for your wedding will be
up front, i think it helps to give you a little time
to settle back down before having to pay me.
